Mercedes-Benz-Valdez-Xicotencatl de Mexico S.A. de C.V. is a Mexico's local branch of the Mercedes-Benz, Daimler AG and Maybach. It is headquartered in Mexico City with it manufacturing facilities located in Santiago Tianguistenco, Mexico and Toluca, Mexico. It assembles commercial FLD (Century Class) and FLN (Premium Class), the Mercedes Benz C-Class, CL-Class, CLS-Class, E-Class, G-Class, GL-Class, GLK-Class, S-Class, and vehicles and handles final production and after market upgrades for all Maybach vehicles in the Asian, North American and South American markets. Mercedes-Benz Mexico is the largest foreign branch of Mercedes-Benz outside of Germany by income, number of sales, vehicles manufactured and total employees. The company was worth $32.649 billion USD in 2009 including its local Dailmer, Maybach and Freightliner subsidiaries. The corporation and its related facilities are 25% owned by Roberto Jose Valdez Xicoténcatl de Ixtlan who started the venture with Daimler AG in 1985 to manufacture Freightliner trucks and the Mercedes-Benz E-Class after receiving the land from the Mexican government due to his constitutional rights as an Indigenous Mexican under Mexico's Ejido system. The other 75% of the company is owned by the Mexican government (51%) and Daimler AG of Germany (14%), with the remaining 10% publicly listed on the Mexican stock market. Mercedes Benz Mexico is used by Indigenous groups in Mexico as an excellent example of productive use of ejido land to benefit the Indigenous and Mexico as a whole.
